  • They Shall Not Come Near You

    A Psalm 91 devotional

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.” – Psalm 91:7

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. There are moments when it seems like the pressures are closing in from every direction, left, right, forward, and backward. You may feel surrounded by battles, enemies, or invisible forces clothed in black. But here’s the truth: the Word of God is unshakable.

God has promised that even though thousands may gather against you, they will not prevail. Whatever schemes the enemy tries, they cannot stand.

    1. God’s Promise Still Stands

Psalm 91 isn’t just poetry, it’s a covenant of protection. God reminds us that though the enemy comes in like a flood, His Spirit raises a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19).

You are not outnumbered, no matter how many rise against you. One with God is the majority.

    2. God Is With You in the Valley

Sometimes the valley feels dark, but Psalm 23 gives us confidence:
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.”

Shadows cannot kill. Storms cannot drown you. Attacks cannot consume you. Why? Because the Shepherd is right there, guiding and comforting you.

    3. Victory Belongs to You

Here’s a secret the Lord revealed to me during my own spiritual battles:
The enemy’s greatest weapon is fear.

Fear makes you forget God’s presence. Fear weakens faith. But the moment you let go of fear and hold onto faith, the enemy loses his grip.

Victory starts in the mind. When you know deep inside that God has already secured your future, the enemy trembles, because he knows he’s fighting a losing battle.

    4. God Prepares a Table Before You

    Psalm 23:5 says:
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

This means God doesn’t always remove your enemies; sometimes He blesses you right in front of them. Your testimony becomes a message all by itself.

    A Word of Encouragement

If you are in a season where the battles feel intense, take heart. The intensity means you are close to victory. The enemy is throwing all he has at you because he knows your breakthrough is near.

So don’t give up now. Don’t let fear steal your faith. Stand firm in God’s promises.

    Declaration Prayer

“Father, I thank You that though a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it shall not come near me. I renounce fear and embrace faith. I declare that every plan of the enemy is destroyed and that I walk in victory, peace, and divine protection. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

  • When You Feel Stuck Mid-journey (Like That Escalator)

When You Feel Stuck Mid-journey (Like That Escalator)

“You’re not broken. You’re just being recalibrated by the One who never stops working behind the scenes.”

    -E. H Abraham

I read a news story today that, honestly, most people would scroll right past.
An escalator in a Nottingham shopping centre broke down and stopped mid-motion.

No injuries. No drama. Just… stuck.
People had to walk around it. Some huffed. Others shrugged.
Maintenance was called. They fixed it. End of story.

But for some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about that escalator.

    Because I’ve felt like her.
    And maybe you have too.

You were rising, in purpose, in motherhood, in calling, in business, in healing.
    You had momentum.
    But then, something shifted.

    You didn’t crash.
    You didn’t collapse.
    You just… stalled.

And the world, much like that shopping centre, kept moving.
People passed by. Life went on.
But there you were, mid-step, mid-project, mid-promise, wondering, What happened to my flow?

As women, especially women of faith, we carry so much.
We climb with bags full of dreams, diapers, deadlines, devotionals, and silent prayers.
So when we pause, when our rhythm breaks, we don’t always give ourselves permission to breathe.

    But God does.

    He doesn’t mock the pause.
    He enters it.

Sometimes, He allows the “stuck” to become sacred.
    A moment to reset.
To be reminded: You’re not broken. You’re being recalibrated.

    Even escalators need maintenance.
And so do we, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically.

If you feel like your life has paused mid-journey, hear this:
    God has not forgotten you.
You are still called. Still chosen. Still rising.

Let Him do the inner work. Let the Holy Spirit come in like divine maintenance.
And when it’s time, you’ll move again, with fresh oil and restored strength.

    With love and grace

  • Your Past Has Expired — You’ve Outgrown That Room

There are moments in life when God lets us revisit the past, not to stay there, but to realize just how far we’ve come.

Sometimes it happens in a conversation, a memory, or even a dream. Suddenly you’re back in an old environment. Maybe a room you used to sit in. A crowd you used to blend into. A system you once believed in. But this time, something feels… different.

    • You don’t quite fit anymore.
    • You don’t recognize the people.
    • You feel out of place — like a visitor in your own history.

    And that’s when God whispers:
“This is not your room anymore. You’ve outgrown this place.”

    Old Rooms, New Revelations

It’s wild how we can cling to old titles, old beliefs, old labels, simply because they feel familiar. But God is not in the business of keeping you in comfort zones. He’s in the business of transformation.

You may have once needed that place. It may have even helped shape your foundation. But growth requires movement. And God loves you too much to let you shrink yourself just to keep others comfortable.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
    – Isaiah 43:18–19 (NKJV)

    Letting Go Doesn’t Mean Disrespect

Walking away from an old room doesn’t mean dishonor. It means obedience.

You can love people and still leave places that no longer align with who God is calling you to be. You can honor your roots and still pursue your rise. Some rooms served a purpose for a season, but the season has changed — and so have you.

A Prayer for When You Feel the Tug

Lord, give me the courage to walk away from the past without guilt.
Show me where You are now.
Help me not to grieve expired places, but to step boldly into the “new thing” You are doing in my life.
Remind me that growth is not betrayal, it’s obedience.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Final Thought

If you’ve been feeling stuck between who you were and who you’re becoming, this is your confirmation: It’s okay to move forward. You don’t belong in that old room anymore. Not because you’re better, but because you’re becoming.

And trust me, what God has prepared for you ahead is far greater than what you’re leaving behind.
